the midnight press

Privacy Policy

Effective 21 August 2026

What we collect

Your email address and name, via sign-in — by email, Google or Apple accounts. The prompts you write and the episodes generated from them. Your subscription status, via Apple — whilom never sees your payment details; Apple handles those directly.

How prompts are processed

Your prompt is sent to AI providers — Anthropic and OpenAI — to research, write, and voice your episode. It's used to generate that episode, not to train their or our models.

What we don't do

No ads. No sale of personal data. No third-party tracking SDKs.

Storage

Episodes and account records are stored in our database. Audio files you've downloaded to your device stay on your device.

Deletion

In-app account deletion erases your account and its records. The generated audio itself may persist in an anonymized form, disconnected from you or your account, so we can serve the same episode efficiently if someone else asks for the equivalent thing.

Notifications

Episode-ready notifications are optional and off unless you turn them on. If enabled, we hold only your device's notification token — nothing else is collected to send them.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the effective date above when we do, and material changes will be flagged in the app.
